Honeywell selects Delta Live Tables for streaming data

Honeywell, through its Energy and Environmental Solutions division, needed a way to manage massive volumes of IoT sensor data to help customers improve building efficiency, indoor air quality, and occupant well-being while reducing energy use and costs. Using Databricks and Spark Declarative Pipelines, Honeywell set out to simplify streaming data processing, improve governance, and gain real-time visibility across complex building data.

Databricks enabled Honeywell to ingest billions of sensor rows into Delta Lake and automatically create SQL endpoints for real-time, multilayer analysis. The result was better scalability, lower latency, improved throughput, and reduced costs, with Honeywell saying its new approach is “a hundred times better” than before for scaling, while also accelerating time to market, improving data quality, and enabling near real-time data science.
