In 2020, Kantar turned to Databricks and its Lakehouse/Data Intelligence Platform on Azure to replace three in-house architectures supporting its Worldpanel Plus research service.
Databricks helped Kantar build a new data processing platform in just one week, improving governance with Unity Catalog, speeding development with Databricks SQL Serverless, and enabling secure data sharing through Delta Sharing. The result was better visibility, collaboration, and monitoring across the data estate, plus the ability to shift from four-weekly insights to real-time daily reporting during COVID-19, helping Kantar respond immediately to changing consumer behavior.
