A Databricks Case Study
Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, the world’s busiest airport, needed a way to unify massive passenger, operations, and revenue data to deliver a better traveler experience and support growth. With limited data infrastructure, the airport turned to Databricks and the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform to create a single source of truth and gain real-time insight across multiple data types.
Databricks helped ATL consolidate 12 datasets and 57 data sources into a near real-time general manager dashboard, cutting report access time from 30 minutes to minutes and reducing dependence on spreadsheets and flat files. The airport is now using Databricks-driven analytics and Power BI visualizations to improve operational efficiency, accelerate decision-making, and launch new initiatives like Trip Planner, which uses IoT data to predict traffic, optimize staffing, and uncover new revenue opportunities.
