Case Study: Trek Bicycle accelerates retail analytics with Databricks

A Databricks Case Study

Preview of the Trek Bicycle Case Study

Global bicycle leader accelerates retail analytics

Trek Bicycle, the global bicycle leader, was frustrated by the rising costs and slow performance of its data warehouse, which made retail analytics sluggish and left teams working with stale ERP data. The company migrated to the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform and used Qlik to replicate ERP data into its lakehouse in near real time.

With Databricks and Qlik, Trek now stores data in Delta Lake tables and refreshes analytics much more frequently, giving business and IT users a unified view of the global business. Databricks helped Trek cut one retail analytics workflow from 48+ hours to 6–8 hours, an 80–90% improvement, and another from 12–14 hours to under 4–5 hours, enabling lakehouse refreshes three times per day instead of once.
