SRF, the German-speaking business unit of Switzerland’s public service media organization, needed a better way to understand audience behavior, personalize content, and support editorial decisions as viewing shifted from broadcast to digital. With growing data volumes, no unified data infrastructure, and difficult custom KPI reporting, SRF turned to Databricks Data Intelligence Platform to build a scalable, cloud-native analytics foundation.
With Databricks, SRF implemented Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, Workflows, Asset Bundles, and DLT to create a governed medallion architecture and automate ETL and deployments. The result was a single source of truth, greater transparency for nontechnical users, and faster decision-making; some processes now run 70x faster, while developer productivity and data accessibility improved across the organization.
