DNB leverages Databricks to scale 5G, reduce costs and drive AI innovation

Digital Nasional Berhad (DNB), Malaysia’s 5G network operator, faced major scalability and cost challenges while processing huge volumes of 5G data and building a data platform capable of delivering real-time insights. To support its rapid nationwide rollout, DNB turned to Databricks and the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform to create a robust foundation for data-driven operations and future AI use.

Databricks implemented a high-performance, cost-effective platform using Delta Lake, Databricks Workflows, Serverless, Notebooks, Unity Catalog, and MLflow. The result was 70% cost savings, improved collaboration and governance, faster operations, and a more reliable 5G network, helping DNB achieve one of the lowest costs per GB globally.
