Delivering integrity and efficiency for the U.S. Postal Service

USPS OIG, the Office of Inspector General for the U.S. Postal Service, needed a better way to manage growing data volumes and support analytics and machine learning while maintaining efficiency, accountability, and integrity. To address these challenges, USPS OIG turned to Databricks and its lakehouse architecture to modernize data management and move analytics to the cloud.

Databricks helped USPS OIG centralize data analysis, remove ETL bottlenecks, and make data easier to access and use across teams. The result was improved operational efficiency, more reliable large-scale analytics and AI, and better support for investigations, audits, and fraud detection. The lakehouse also enabled USPS OIG to combine mail images with operational data to help reduce fraud, waste, and abuse, while improving the customer experience.
