A Databricks Case Study
National Australia Bank (NAB), Australia’s second-largest bank, needed to replace a decades-old Teradata warehouse that was creating inefficiencies and making it harder to support customer experience, compliance, and modern analytics needs. To modernize its data strategy, NAB turned to Databricks and Databricks SQL as part of a Lakehouse architecture.
Databricks helped NAB migrate 95% of critical reporting, analytics, and machine learning workloads off the legacy platform, giving more than 1,200 users governed, real-time access to data. The results included stronger data governance, improved uptime, faster analytics, and quicker remediation of data issues; NAB also launched a new regulatory dashboard in under a week, a task that previously could take months.
