A Databricks Case Study

Preview of the MissionWired Case Study

Connecting supporters with causes to drive meaningful change

MissionWired, a fundraising technology company serving nonprofits and political campaigns, was struggling with declining performance from traditional acquisition channels, legacy systems that couldn’t handle massive data volumes, and shrinking budgets. To improve donor targeting and campaign efficiency, MissionWired turned to Databricks and its unified data and AI platform, including tools for data processing, governance, SQL analytics, and machine learning.

With Databricks, MissionWired automated ETL with Spark Declarative Pipelines, organized data with Unity Catalog, and used Databricks SQL, Notebooks, and TensorFlow-based workflows to scale analytics and ML. The result was faster reporting, better data reliability, and the ability to train and deploy thousands of models annually; since 2020, MissionWired processed 275 billion data points and helped raise $350 million for clients.
