Case Study: Cox Automotive achieves unified data orchestration and faster delivery with Databricks

Cox Automotive, part of Cox Automotive Europe, needed a better way to unify data and analytics across multiple business units and internal customers while supporting a small engineering team. Using Databricks, including the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform and Lakeflow Jobs, the company set out to consolidate data, improve orchestration, and make it easier for data scientists to build new products and services.

Databricks helped Cox Automotive automate and manage about 300 ETL jobs, with roughly 120 running on a regular schedule and around 720GB of data processed in production pipelines each day. With Databricks Lakeflow Jobs, Unity Catalog, and Delta Sharing, Cox Automotive improved scheduling, observability, alerting, and troubleshooting, enabling faster delivery of data to teams using Tableau and Power BI while reducing issues before they affected the data science team.
