Sony Music Entertainment, a global recorded music company, needed a better way to handle expense reporting across a complex international environment with multiple ERP systems, strict accounting logic, and detailed approval and audit requirements. The company also wanted stronger budget control at the purchase order level and a better user experience than its legacy system could provide, while working across a global SAP instance and Dynamics AX.

DATABASICS implemented its Expense Reporting solution to support standardized processes while still accommodating the needs of different business units. DATABASICS provided tight integration with SAP and Dynamics AX, centralized expense data from multiple systems, supported accounting and management reporting in local and global currencies, and included receipt integration plus subcontractor support for audit and VAT recovery. The result was a flexible, global expense platform that improved control and usability for Sony Music, though the case study does not provide numeric metrics.
