A DataArt Case Study
DataArt worked with Rappi, the Latin American on-demand delivery platform, to modernize its product catalog and improve the reliability of its catalog service. As Rappi’s UserApp and product ecosystem grew, its existing architecture struggled with performance, scalability, single points of failure, and data inconsistency in the catalog that stores, updates, and publishes product information.
DataArt re-engineered the catalog with a distributed data processing pipeline, new nanoservices, and a more resilient AWS-based architecture using components such as Kafka, Redis, S3, SQS, and AWS DocDB. The result was 99.99% data consistency, 97% uptime, and improved catalog service reliability to 98%, while also supporting up to 450 million requests per day and reducing technical complexity enough to consolidate development from three teams to one.
