A Data Virtuality Case Study
Avenso AG, the Berlin-based ecommerce and gallery network behind LUMAS and WhiteWall, struggled with data scattered across many sources, including MySQL databases, Google Analytics, marketing systems, offline gallery data, and producer data. Its BI team spent a lot of time manually gathering, cleansing, and consolidating information in Excel, while restrictive access to data created bottlenecks for the rest of the business.
To address this, Avenso implemented the Data Virtuality Logical Data Warehouse to connect disparate sources, centralize reporting, validate and standardize data, and automate processes. With Data Virtuality, the company built reusable data marts and a single source of truth, cutting data preparation time by more than 90% from about two hours to less than 5 minutes and reducing dependency on the BI team.
