Temasek and Startupx Create a Sustainable Datathon With Data Republic Governance

Temasek Holdings partnered with Data Republic to support HyperHack 2019, a global sustainability hackcelerator in Singapore. The challenge was to run a high-profile datathon where participants could access synthetic data and analytics tools to build solutions for health and financial well-being, while still maintaining strong privacy, governance, and compliance across multiple event partners.

Using Data Republic’s Senate platform and Datathon Support Services, Temasek Holdings governed licensing, de-identification, dataset loading, and participant access for the event. Data Republic provisioned secure workspaces for teams, provided on-site expert support, and helped enable trusted data sharing through IMDA’s regulatory sandbox. The result was a successfully delivered datathon with strong participation and submissions that demonstrated how governed data collaboration can drive social good, though no specific quantitative impact was reported.
