Increase Virtual Infrastructure Reliability for Maryland Health Department

Maryland Department of Health worked with Data Networks to address an aging virtual infrastructure that had become less reliable and risked affecting services and productivity. The department needed to upgrade its existing virtual server environment, including servers and storage at its data center, to support current and future demand.

Data Networks assessed the existing SAN, iSCSI, VMware ESX, and virtual machine requirements, then designed and implemented a new infrastructure featuring an EMC VNX5300 iSCSI SAN, Dell R720 servers, and VMware vSphere 5. They migrated data, reconfigured backup systems, and provided documentation and knowledge transfer. The result was a more robust, flexible, and reliable environment with reduced maintenance costs, better resource utilization, and improved management of enterprise IT resources.
