Frederick County Public Schools Fulfill the Promise of Public Education with a Simple, Fast, Reliable Network

Frederick County Public Schools partnered with **Data Networks** to address an aging legacy network that was limiting digital learning, BYOD, and the district’s move to 1:1 computing. Serving more than 42,000 students across 66 school sites, the district needed a simple, scalable, and reliable network to support classroom technology, online assessments, and future growth.

**Data Networks** designed and implemented a Juniper-based solution using EX3400, EX4600, EX4300, and QFX5100 switches, along with Junos Space Network Director. The new network improved scalability and performance, supported over 24,000 student mobile devices and daily cloud access for 42,000 users, and enabled smoother operations for a small IT team. It also helped FCPS meet state testing requirements and improved reliability, rollback capability, and data center failover.
