A Data Networks Case Study
Bowie State University, a Maryland university with about 6,400 students across 30 buildings and outdoor areas, was experiencing major Wi-Fi problems, including failed connections and very slow speeds. The university’s IT team needed help identifying the root cause of the network issues, so they brought in Data Networks to perform a campus-wide Wi-Fi site assessment using the Ekahau Site Survey Platform.
Data Networks conducted a thorough survey of all 1,250 wireless access points, collecting tens of thousands of data points and producing a detailed findings report. The assessment uncovered low data rates, significant interference from nearby devices, and configuration risks, giving Bowie State University clear recommendations to improve wireless performance and security.
