Imec scales to 30+ use cases in a year with Data Minded

Imec, an international research hub for nano- and digital technology, was concerned about the scalability of its on-premises SAS-based data warehouse as it aimed to roll out a broad range of data capabilities company-wide. To architect a modern and future-proof data platform, imec selected vendor Data Minded to perform a study and identify improvements to their way of working.

Data Minded introduced data mesh principles and designed a new platform using their product Conveyor, built on Azure services. The solution enabled imec to rapidly deploy over 30 use cases across 10 domains within a year, significantly reducing costs. Data Minded successfully deployed more than 70 data products, enabling self-service capabilities and presenting new opportunities for expanding analytics efforts across the organization.
