Case Study: Ibiden (Japanese automotive parts manufacturer) achieves faster trading-partner response and localized EDI with Data Interchange's managed Odex solution

A Data Interchange Case Study

Preview of the Ibiden Case Study

A bespoke and localised EDI solution with Managed Support

Ibiden, founded in 1912, is a Japanese electronics and ceramics manufacturer of high‑quality automotive parts with about 3,600 employees across 34 locations in 17 countries. Although they had used Data Interchange’s Odex Enterprise solution at their Japanese HQ, protocol and mapping changes for the German subsidiary had to be routed through Japan, creating slow response times and missed expectations with local trading partners.

Data Interchange implemented a localized Odex Enterprise system in Germany combined with a bespoke managed‑service package, onboarding and mapping local trading partners and providing monthly remote support and planned maintenance. The in‑house German solution removed the need for costly internal expertise, streamlined processes, reduced costs, and dramatically improved reaction time to partner requests, strengthening Ibiden’s relationships with local markets.
