UI Health Care expands lab connectivity with Data Innovation's vendor-neutral Instrument Manager

The customer, UI Health Care (University of Iowa Healthcare), faced a challenge in its clinical laboratory where its third-party instrument middleware did not support connections to all of its in vitro diagnostic (IVD) instruments. By directly licensing Data Innovations' Instrument Manager, the lab achieved truly vendor-neutral connectivity, allowing it to link all of its instruments to a single system. The solution improved operational efficiencies by consolidating instruments, patient data, and workflows. It also provided enhanced support for writing rules, access to the latest software updates with new security and features, and the ability for staff to monitor connection status remotely using the Lab GPS mobile app.
