Neopost, Europe’s leading supplier of mailing solutions, wanted to streamline the manual handling of incoming payee cheques and remittance notices. Working with Data Capture Solutions (DCS), they sought a way to automate opening, sorting, validation, and data extraction to reduce time-consuming, labour-intensive processing and improve accuracy in their mailroom and finance workflows.

Data Capture Solutions implemented a mailroom automation solution using Neopost’s IM-75 mail opener alongside Kofax Capture, Kofax Transformation Modules, Kofax VRS, Kodak i5200 scanners, and DCS FileStore, integrating with SAP and other back-end systems. The result was a major efficiency gain: cheque validation work dropped from about 25 hours to 5 hours per week, the post room saved the cashiers up to 2 hours per day, and end-to-end cheque processing time was cut by roughly 50%, with a better audit trail and fewer manual errors.
