ZHAW, a leading Swiss university of applied sciences, faced the ongoing challenge of preparing engineering students for the job market by teaching the latest digital technologies and multidisciplinary industry processes. To address this, ZHAW integrated Dassault Systemes solutions — notably CATIA, ENOVIA, DELMIA and 3DEXCITE, with plans to adopt the 3DEXPERIENCE platform — into its curriculum and professional internships.

Dassault Systemes’ tools, supported by partner CENIT, are used by more than 700 students across disciplines and embedded in real projects (about 30 professional projects per semester and 50 research projects annually). This workflow enabled outcomes such as the BICAR urban EV designed entirely with Dassault Systemes solutions (a collaboration with 20 partner companies and a planned 20‑vehicle pilot), faster student integration into industry, and improved employability, with many graduates finding jobs shortly after graduation.
