Turns students into workplace leaders

Technological University of Puebla faced a need to better prepare students for the demands of central Mexico’s growing and increasingly sophisticated industries by creating a PLM technology center. To close skills gaps in mechatronics, industrial maintenance and manufacturing and to strengthen ties with local employers, the university turned to Dassault Systemes, adopting its CATIA, DELMIA, ENOVIA and 3DVIA Composer (V6) solutions.

Dassault Systemes helped UTP build a PLM Competency Center—selected as the first center from 78 universities—training over 20 professors and leveraging a 4 million peso (US$330k) government investment. The center reinforced UTP’s leadership in 3D PLM, supported a 69% enrollment increase over five years, strengthened industry partnerships, and contributed to more than 70% of graduates finding work within six months, with the university aiming for 100% employment.
