Suzlon - Customer Case Study

Suzlon, the world’s fifth-largest wind turbine manufacturer and parent of SE Blades, needed to optimize blade development to boost competitiveness and capture market share as global wind-power demand grew. To meet this challenge, Suzlon adopted Dassault Systemes’ 3DEXPERIENCE Platform, including the Sustainable Wind Turbines industry solution experience (CATIA, SIMULIA SLM and ENOVIA).

Dassault Systemes implemented a virtual end-to-end design, simulation and collaborative data environment—using CATIA’s Composites module, SIMULIA SLM and ENOVIA—to enable digital modeling, template-based designs and multi-site concurrent engineering across Denmark, the Netherlands and India. The solution eliminated much ply rework through draping analysis and CNC-cut flattened plies, improved collaboration and traceability, reduced development and prototyping time, and trained 18 engineers, enabling Suzlon/SE Blades to bring products to market faster.
