Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company - Customer Case Study

Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company sought to become the first Russian airplane manufacturer to fully design its aircraft using digital technology. To meet this challenge, SCAC partnered with Dassault Systemes and implemented the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform (with CATIA and other Dassault Systemes applications) to support 3D design, engineering analysis, tolerancing, ergonomics and an integrated information environment linking design offices, suppliers and production.

Using Dassault Systemes’ 3DEXPERIENCE Platform SCAC built a complete digital mock-up of the Sukhoi Superjet 100, enabling virtual ergonomics checks, tolerance verification and CNC machine programming that minimized paper documentation, reduced development time and cost, and improved product quality; the SSJ100 entered service in 2011, had 11 aircraft sold by November 2012, logged over 7,900 flights (15,580+ flight hours) and secured 170+ firm orders. Dassault Systemes’ solution also reduced the need for physical prototypes and helped parts assemble without additional adjustments.
