Stadler Rail - Customer Case Study

Stadler Rail Group, a rapidly growing manufacturer of customer-specific trains and rail systems, needed a stable IT infrastructure so multiple engineering sites could collaborate on the same projects and manage increasingly large 3D CAD assemblies. The company turned to Dassault Systemes and its CATIA V5 plus ENOVIA SmarTeam platform to create a more connected CAD/PDM environment.

Dassault Systemes implemented SmarTeam Multi-site with CATIA V5, enabling Stadler Rail to exchange virtual product assemblies five times faster while improving access to up-to-date product data across sites. The solution compressed CATIA files, duplicated models across locations, and helped streamline reuse, collaboration, and early collision detection, with one measured result cutting checkout and opening time for two five-megabyte assemblies to 11 seconds.
