SIG Combibloc Reduces Planning Time by Half Using Quintiq Macro Planner

SIG Combibloc, a global supplier of carton packaging and filling machines, was hampered by decentralized planning in Microsoft Excel that made company-wide visibility, capacity sharing and bottleneck identification difficult. To meet rapid growth and complex scheduling needs, SIG selected Dassault Systemes' Quintiq Macro Planner (integrated with SAP) to replace manual spreadsheets and standardize planning across its plants.

Dassault Systemes implemented Quintiq Macro Planner to centralize data entry, give managers a unified view of capacity, and enable scenario-based bottleneck resolution and volume shifts between sites. The solution cut planning time from a full day to about an hour, significantly improved capacity utilization and decision making, and allowed SIG Combibloc to proactively manage bottlenecks while expanding use of additional Quintiq tools.
