Shanghai Municipal Engineering Design Institute (SMEDI), China’s leading civil engineering design and consulting firm, needed to deliver ecologically and economically sustainable solutions for complex urban development projects. To meet this challenge, SMEDI partnered with Dassault Systemes and deployed the Dassault Systemes 3DEXPERIENCE platform (leveraging brands such as 3DVIA, CATIA and ENOVIA) in its Shanghai R&D center to develop industry-specific solution experiences for civil engineering and construction.
Dassault Systemes’ 3DEXPERIENCE solution enabled SMEDI designers to use 3D to more accurately convey ideas and let customers experience designs before making decisions, transforming how SMEDI approaches civil engineering projects. The deployment improved design communication and decision-making and validated Dassault Systemes’ platform as a valuable tool for promoting sustainable, socially focused urban development.
