Scania - Customer Case Study

Scania, a global manufacturer of heavy trucks, buses and engines, needed to refine powertrain and drivetrain components to meet stringent emissions targets while preserving quality and cutting back on physical testing. To achieve this, Scania worked with Dassault Systemes using the Tosca Structure optimization software.

Dassault Systemes applied Tosca Structure early in the development process to generate lighter, stiffer component designs, delivering 30% material savings and a 26% reduction in stress while maintaining manufacturability. The optimization reduced expensive testing, sped development, lowered vehicle weight and fuel consumption, and helped Scania meet Euro 6 emissions standards ahead of schedule.
