Reducing overall production time by 30% with Dassault Systèmes PLM Solutions

Planatech, a leading Greek designer and manufacturer of Rigid Inflatable Boats (RIBs), needed to speed up its boat development and tooling processes without sacrificing quality to improve customer service and win new markets. To address this challenge they adopted Dassault Systemes’ CATIA solutions, using CATIA Analysis and CATIA for Composites to support end-to-end product engineering from surface design to NC code generation.

Dassault Systemes implemented CATIA for advanced surfacing, composites design, unfolding, virtual stress and ergonomic testing, and tooling/NC preparation, allowing Planatech to replace many physical prototypes with accurate virtual tests. The result: Planatech cut overall production time by 30% and accelerated development of the Scorpion 10m RIB by 25%, improving design reliability and enabling faster introduction of innovative options; Planatech is also evaluating Dassault Systemes’ ENOVIA SmarTeam for future data management.
