ORACLE TEAM USA, the American yacht racing team and Defender of the 34th America’s Cup, needed to design, test and build a new foiling AC50 catamaran under an aggressive timeline to defend its title. To meet this challenge the team partnered with Dassault Systemes and used the 3DEXPERIENCE platform—including CATIA, ENOVIA and SIMULIA—for virtual design, collaboration and simulation.

Dassault Systemes’ solutions let ORACLE TEAM USA rapidly iterate designs, run realistic simulations to optimize structure and control systems, and 3D‑print parts for immediate testing—reducing workload (what once required four designers can now be done by one), delivering next‑day on‑water prototypes and shortening cycle times. The result was faster, more accurate design decisions, measurable time savings and improved performance readiness for the team.
