A Dassault Systemes Case Study
COC Corporation, a major Taiwanese automotive sheet‑metal and mold supplier, needed to meet increasingly complex OEM requirements and move off legacy 2D workflows into associative 3D design for mold, press‑mold, jig and fixture development. To modernize its tooling design-to-manufacturing process, COC chose Dassault Systemes’ CATIA platform (initially Advanced Hybrid Design and CAD/CAM Preparation Machinist 2) to support shape design, simulation and knowledgeware capabilities.
Dassault Systemes delivered CATIA with professional implementation support, enabling COC Corporation to perform 3D die‑face design, CAE forming simulation and automated calculations of mold operation, weight and production cost while building libraries and design parameters for reuse. The result was significantly reduced design and rework time, improved accuracy of estimates and production‑ready models, and a dramatic decrease in time spent modifying molds—boosting quality and COC’s competitiveness in global automotive supply.
