NGK Spark Plug Company Limited, a global manufacturer of spark plugs, sensors and technical ceramics, struggled to coordinate design drawings and bills of material across growing overseas production sites as its product range diversified. To create a secure, global environment for fast transmission and unified management of engineering data, NGK adopted Dassault Systemes’ 3DEXPERIENCE platform, including ENOVIA and CATIA V6.

Dassault Systemes implemented a next-generation engineering data system (EDS) on 3DEXPERIENCE that links design drawings, CAD data and BOMs to product numbers and provides role-based, centralized access across the NTK group. The solution enabled rapid, secure sharing of design information with production sites, improved BOM consistency, supported modular 3D design for quicker reconfiguration, and increased productivity and responsiveness for global mass production.
