Managing a Multitude of Variants with ENOVIA SmarTeam

Nimak, a German welding machinery and equipment manufacturer that produces hundreds of variants of the same machine type for industries including automotive, faced a major product-data and variant-management challenge across its sites. To standardize CAD and handle the complexity of many parts and configurations, Nimak selected Dassault Systemes' solutions, deploying CATIA V5 together with ENOVIA SmarTeam to manage design data and variants.

Dassault Systemes’ CATIA V5 and ENOVIA SmarTeam (implemented with partner support) centralized part data and automated change management, enabling quick part lookup, easier reuse of components, and the elimination of duplicate work and manual-change errors. The rollout standardized engineering practices across sites, made current project data available to all participants, and fully integrated the parts list in ENOVIA SmarTeam with plans to upload to ERP—delivering measurable reductions in data errors and faster access to correct design information.
