Leveraging knowledge corporate-wide with DS PLM

C&D Zodiac, a global designer and manufacturer of aircraft interiors, needed to cut product development costs and eliminate bottlenecks to meet increasingly competitive OEM and airline pricing while preserving innovation and quality. To enable lean product development and give employees company-wide access to design knowledge, C&D Zodiac implemented DS PLM from Dassault Systemes, including CATIA V5 and ENOVIA SmarTeam.

Dassault Systemes centralized C&D’s 3D data, captured best practices with Knowledgeware and “smart parts,” and structured revisions and workflows with ENOVIA SmarTeam to share data across offices in the US, Canada, Mexico, Brazil and France. The DS PLM deployment delivered measurable gains—major productivity improvements, reduced design costs, faster turnaround (drawings produced in hours instead of weeks), elimination of translation steps in a pilot for Airbus A340 bins, and improved manufacturability and profitability.
