Korsö Båt, a family-run Finnish boatbuilder and design subcontractor, needed to leverage its decades of woodworking and design expertise with modern software to better combine utility and aesthetics and stay competitive. To meet that challenge the company adopted Dassault Systemes' CATIA solution on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform for end-to-end boat design.

Dassault Systemes’ CATIA enabled Korsö Båt to build precise 3D hulls, automatically propagate design changes, reuse previous designs and speed development cycles, which increased innovation and design capacity. As a result Korsö Båt has reduced development times, streamlined change processes, delivered two new 39- and 36-foot models since 2010, expanded its manufacturing offerings (including NC programs) and plans to grow its design team.
