A Dassault Systemes Case Study
J.M. Waller Associates, an engineering consulting firm serving the U.S. military and federal agencies, faced the recurring challenge of missing or proprietary manufacturing drawings, supplier price‑gouging and scarce parts that threatened readiness and safety. To reverse‑engineer components for platforms such as the HH‑60H “Seahawk” gun mounts and the C‑5 Galaxy aft ramp system, J.M. Waller relied on DraftSight from Dassault Systemes to access and edit legacy .dwg/.dxf files.
Using DraftSight from Dassault Systemes, J.M. Waller recreated non‑proprietary technical drawings and prototypes that restored parts availability, reduced dependence on single suppliers, and helped the military avoid inflated prices and procurement delays. The work improved maintenance readiness and safety on critical aircraft while saving time and licensing costs by allowing engineers to open and revise older CAD files without buying new AutoCAD licenses.
