Increasing design accuracy with SIMULIA

Atomenergoproject, a leading designer of nuclear power plants, needed to improve the quality and safety of its designs while accelerating development. To meet this challenge the company selected Abaqus Unified FEA from SIMULIA, supplied by Dassault Systemes, to enable realistic simulation of dynamic forces (plane crashes, earthquakes, etc.) during the design stage.

Dassault Systemes implemented Abaqus Unified FEA along with training and annual technical support so Atomenergoproject could run comprehensive linear and nonlinear dynamic analyses, model contact interactions and nonlinear concrete‑soil behavior, and virtually test design performance. As a result, Atomenergoproject reports increased accuracy and reliability of its designs, improved plant safety through more realistic simulations, and practical workflow gains (with user feedback even incorporated into subsequent Abaqus releases).
