Huangpu Wenchong Shipyard, a CSSC subsidiary and one of China’s largest military and commercial shipbuilders, was hit by declining orders, rising shipbuilding costs and fragmented, siloed software that caused data incompatibility and slow, error‑prone workflows. Using Dassault Systemes’ 3DEXPERIENCE platform, Huangpu Wenchong restructured its design and production processes around a single data source so engineering, manufacturing and project management could work concurrently; more than 100 designers now use Designed For Sea on a 2,700 TEU program. The integrated solution enabled digital build simulation, direct CNC data output, 3D interactive work instructions and faster customization for ship owners, yielding quicker cross‑discipline collaboration, fewer late‑stage errors and improved shipyard competitiveness.
