A Dassault Systemes Case Study
Honda Life Creation Center, Honda Motor’s R&D unit for engines and power products (lawnmowers, generators, outboard engines, etc.), needed to shift from purely functional designs to more attractive, consumer‑centric products—especially as it expands into electric home products—to spark joy and influence purchase decisions. To tackle this design transformation it turned to Dassault Systemes and its 3DEXPERIENCE platform, leveraging CATIA for creative, virtual-driven styling.
Using Dassault Systemes’ 3DEXPERIENCE and CATIA, Honda designers moved to integrated 3D modeling, virtual reality and collaborative apps that removed tedious data conversions, improved part reuse and enabled real‑time validation of size, materials and aesthetics. The change delivered more intuitive workflows, closer designer‑engineer collaboration, stronger product visualization and faster iteration, helping Honda Life Creation Center produce more appealing, consumer‑focused power products.
