Hardstone Construction faced severe coordination and design breakdowns on the complex Tivoli Village mixed‑use project—16 buildings over a tri‑level garage where owner drawings were frequently changing, original design teams walked off the job, and the owner asked Hardstone to take on full design responsibility. To manage the risk and avoid costly rework, Hardstone turned to Dassault Systemes and its 3DEXPERIENCE Platform using the CATIA application (with 3DVIA for visualization) to create a highly detailed virtual 3D model for design and coordination.

Using Dassault Systemes’ 3DEXPERIENCE/CATIA solution, Hardstone produced integrated, parameterized 3D models for architecture, structure and MEP, enabling live coordination, precise shop drawings and offsite prefabrication. The result: Phase 1 of the $300M project was delivered on time and on budget with zero contractor/subcontractor claims or change‑order costs; estimated savings were $2–3M overall (including $500K–$1M avoided framing overruns), MEP material use fell by about 30%, and on‑site waste and conflicts were substantially reduced.
