Geostatistics Significantly Improve Resources Estimations Gold Production And Exploration Company Saves Time And Effort With Greater Confidence

Regis Resources, a Perth‑based gold production and exploration company operating the Duketon Project, needed more confidence and efficiency in its geological resource estimations. Regis uses Dassault Systemes’ GEOVIA Surpac at its head office and three mining sites, and its challenge was improving geostatistical validation (declustering, swath plots, variography) and reducing time and reliance on a separate geostatistics program.

Dassault Systemes enhanced GEOVIA Surpac with improved geostatistics—integrated declustering, fast swath‑plot and Grade‑Tonnage generation, mean/variance statistics, dynamic anisotropy, multi‑cell sizing and pass assignment—streamlining workflows and reducing macro complexity. Regis reports greater confidence in estimates, measurable time savings (about 10 minutes saved per swath plot and major reductions in time to produce grade‑tonnage after multiple iterations), fewer errors and the potential to eliminate a separate geostatistics package.
