Georgia Institute of Technology - Customer Case Study

The Georgia Institute of Technology’s Aerospace Systems Design Lab (ASDL) faced rising cost, risk and development time designing unmanned aerial systems (UASs) for harsh, variable environments and needed to bring more information into the concept phase to avoid expensive physical prototypes. To unify multidisciplinary tools and maintain requirements traceability, ASDL adopted Dassault Systemes’ 3DEXPERIENCE platform and the Winning Program Industry Solution Experience (including CATIA, ENOVIA, SIMULIA and 3DVIA).

Dassault Systemes implemented Winning Program as the backbone of ASDL’s virtual prototyping framework, integrating design, simulation, requirements traceability and visualization so teams could iterate component-based UAS concepts, run mission tests, and manage configurations in a single environment. The result was repeatable, reusable component libraries, earlier validation without many physical prototypes, improved confidence in concept-to-prototype delivery, and measurable time- and cost-savings in design, integration and testing.
