A Dassault Systemes Case Study
General Mills France sought to grow its Häagen‑Dazs premium ice cream business by launching compact ice cream stick bars tailored to snacking trends, but needed an innovative merchandising strategy to ensure standout in crowded store aisles. To design and validate optimal shelf-space, placement and packaging, General Mills France turned to Dassault Systèmes’ 3DEXPERIENCE® platform using the cloud-based Perfect Shelf Industry Solution Experience.
Dassault Systèmes implemented immersive virtual store environments and 3D planograms that let General Mills France and retail partners evaluate layouts, lighting and signage faster and at lower cost, avoiding physical test stores and reducing total cost of ownership. The Perfect Shelf solution helped optimize category management and retailer collaboration, contributing to Häagen‑Dazs stick bars being ranked #2 in Nielsen’s Top Innovations 2015 and generating over €13 million in supermarket sales in the first six months.
