Die Manufacturing of FAW, China’s leading car body die and automotive weld fixture maker, faced mounting pressure to boost innovation, win new customers and manage rapidly growing 3D models and product data. To address these challenges it adopted a PLM-based collaborative R&D approach using Dassault Systemes solutions, notably CATIA for 3D design and ENOVIA SmarTeam for data and project management.

Dassault Systemes implemented a collaborative platform—combining CATIA, a 3D part library and ENOVIA SmarTeam modules for data, process and project management—that shortened design time by about 15% and cut production/manufacturing time by up to 20%. The project raised one-time design/manufacturing success rates from 70% to 90%, reduced training costs and time-to-market, improved part consistency, and delivered measurable ROI across the product lifecycle.
