Case Study: STX Shipbuilding achieves 50% engineering productivity gain and global design-to-manufacture collaboration with Dassault Systèmes ENOVIA

A Dassault Systemes Case Study

Preview of the STX Shipbuilding Case Study

Designing and manufacturing anywhere with ENOVIA

STX Shipbuilding, a global shipbuilder with 21 yards, sought to realize a “Design Anywhere, Manufacture Anywhere” strategy by improving design-to-manufacturing productivity and gaining real-time product data visibility. To meet this challenge, STX Shipbuilding deployed ENOVIA from Dassault Systemes as the PLM backbone for its worldwide Process Innovation program.

Dassault Systemes implemented ENOVIA (including Product Central, Program Central and Engineering Central) to create Master BOMs and synchronized Project BOMs, integrate ERP/PLM/SAPS, and enable cross-site collaboration across Korea, China and Norway. The solution eliminated many engineering errors and rework, cut engineering work by 50% and production work by 30%, and is expected to reduce costs by KRW 100 billion (US$70M) over five years while improving manufacturing visibility and decision-making.
