CST Studio Suite Simulations replace Prototype Builds for Convergentia

Convergentia, a “virtual build factory” that provides virtual prototyping for portable electronics, faced difficult antenna-design problems in very thin devices—poor grounding between metal parts, hard-to-find high-loss resonances, and long, expensive prototype cycles. To tackle this, Convergentia used Dassault Systemes’ CST Studio Suite (a SIMULIA simulation tool) to examine designs and visualize fields without building physical prototypes.

With Dassault Systemes’ CST Studio Suite, Convergentia implemented an accurate virtual-prototyping workflow that let engineers identify resonant components, tune matching networks and material properties, and align simulation with measurements. The outcome was a marked reduction in prototype rounds and overall device development time, reliable simulation-to-measurement correlation, and the ability to start EMC and data-throughput testing earlier in the program.
