Cokal - Customer Case Study

Cokal Limited (Cokal), an ASX‑listed coal explorer developing the BBM project in Kalimantan, Indonesia, needed a reliable tool to move from greenfield exploration through to production while meeting JORC reporting requirements. To streamline geology, drilling planning and resource modelling, Cokal adopted Dassault Systemes’ GEOVIA Minex™ as their core exploration and mine‑planning solution.

Using Dassault Systemes’ GEOVIA Minex™, Cokal created a unified drillhole database, validated and interpolated seams, and upgraded BBM Resources from ~77Mt to 261Mt (10.5Mt Measured, 13.5Mt Indicated, 237Mt Inferred). Minex reduced modelling and planning time from nine man‑months to about two weeks, saved roughly $200,000 by avoiding unnecessary drilling, improved auditability for JORC compliance, and boosted staff confidence as Cokal progresses toward open‑pit mine planning and scheduling.
