A Dassault Systemes Case Study
Chitkara University, a privately owned university in Chandigarh serving about 12,000 students across engineering, architecture and other disciplines, needed to give students a multi‑disciplinary, industry‑relevant education that fosters initiative and entrepreneurship through project- and contest-based learning. To meet this challenge the university partnered with Dassault Systemes to integrate the 3DEXPERIENCE platform (including CATIA, DELMIA and planned SIMULIA/3DVIA training) into both curricular and extra‑curricular programs.
Dassault Systemes’ 3DEXPERIENCE platform was delivered through the LADDER program (with Tata Technologies), enabling students to design, simulate and prepare products for manufacture in a virtual environment; 200–240 students are trained on CATIA every three months, project submissions increased more than 130% year‑over‑year, and innovations like the Live Braille glove were tested on 52 subjects with 100% satisfaction. By using Dassault Systemes’ tools, Chitkara’s students gained practical skills and employability while producing award‑winning, societally beneficial products such as an electric racing car and a solar‑powered golf cart.
