A Dassault Systemes Case Study
CadMakers, a Vancouver-based integrated construction and manufacturing technology company, was engaged to accelerate delivery of Brock Commons – Tallwood House, the world’s largest mass-timber residence. To overcome coordination, fabrication and scheduling challenges for this 18‑story, prefabricated timber project, CadMakers leveraged Dassault Systemes’ 3DEXPERIENCE platform on the cloud, including CATIA for design-for-fabrication and DELMIA for optimized planning and simulation.
Using Dassault Systemes’ cloud platform, CadMakers built a unified 3D model, ran 4D clash detection and production simulations, and drove CNC fabrication data to the factory to ensure millimeter-level fit. The result: Tallwood House was erected in 9.5 weeks (about 70% faster than comparable concrete buildings), achieved 0.1 mm precision that eliminated onsite rework, and used mass-timber that saved 2,432 metric tons of CO2 (equivalent to removing 511 cars from the road for a year).
